What our team thinks about International Women's Day

What our team thinks about International Women's Day

At JustWears, we're a pretty female-heavy team. Now, you may be asking yourselves, isn't that a bit strange for a men's underwear company? Well, firstly, there are several guys on the team too. But also, we think that the men's underwear industry needs an alternative viewpoint for all the men who are underserved by their underwear. We think women offer that.

We have also just launched our women's collections that were made by our female team. It was important to us that we extend the same comfort our male customers get, to women.

It's International Women's Day and it's had the team thinking a lot about what it means to be a woman. Below, the team reflects on what International Women's Day means to them.

Yang Liu - CEO and Founder

"
It's a day to stand in solidarity with other women and to push for positive change in areas such as equal pay, representation in leadership roles, and support for women-owned businesses."

Olivia Wright - Creative Lead

"A day to reflect on how far we have come in our journey for equality, and how far we still have to go to make this a reality for many women and girls around the globe. From equal access to basic rights such as education and healthcare, to representation in influential roles in society. May our actions today make progress for the daughters of tomorrow."

Kat Walsh - Customer Success

"As a gay woman, International Women's Day stirs a righteous anger within me. Why must we designate a specific day to spotlight the glaring inequalities women face daily? It's a stark reminder of the systemic injustices that persist. We demand recognition, not just today, but every day, as we navigate a world that too often dismisses, underestimates, and oppresses us. Let's channel this anger into fuel for change, dismantling the barriers that deny women their rightful place in society. International Women's Day is a battle cry, a call to action, demanding equality now and always!"

Mariane Nacarato - Graphic Designer

"To be honest, I don’t think we should have a day of celebration as every day is ours. We are the basis of everything. I love being a woman, listening to women, being surrounded by women, inspiring and being inspired by them. But it’s also a daily struggle. We’ve already broken many patterns and we still have a long way to go. Our individual strength means a lot, but together we are a powerhouse. Let’s go together."

Haylee Lunt - Brand Communications

"International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the contributions women have made and continue to make that have been underrepresented or appreciated. Such as issues like unpaid care work and the gender pay gap. I think it is also a day to personally and socially look internally and feel proud for having existed in a world where we're met with innumerable barriers, and to still have carried on."
